Snow Day

Dec. 8, 2009

Ok, so today I am not going to be going anywhere because we are getting 8-9 inches of snow! I am going to give my skin a breather and where NO makeup! I know it could be scary. I think it's best to always give atleast one day to let the skin breathe. I will do my skincare still and maybe a hydrating mask. In this severely dry weather an extra boost of moisture is needed.

In my spare time today I am going to do some makeup research and post my findings. Let me know if there is anything you would like to know.

YouTube Makeup Tutorials/Look of the day

Dec. 7, 2009

Wow, I have spent most of my morning watching the makeup queens of YouTube!
I have a few faves: Kandee the makeup artist, pixiwoo, and tiffanyD. Why do I like them you ask? Because they get right to the makeup, use very descriptive words and show what the are using. That way if you want to go out and buy it you can!

Today my look was simple and fast. I am not working and just running errands so I threw on Laura Mercier's Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer in Natural Radiance to brighten my dull winter skin. I used Laura Mercier's secret camoflauge in No. 4 to conceal my breakout and brighten my under eyes. Set with Laura Mercier's Mineral Finishing Powder No. 1. This powder gives a nice soft focus to the skin and holds makeup on throughout the day.

The colors I used were very simple yet I look polished. Nars Blush in Orgasm, this is a no brainer cheek color that looks good on every skin tone! I love it! I popped this on the apples of the cheeks and swept a little Laura Mercier Warm Bronze Mineral under my cheek bones to contour. My eyes I just did a sweep of Chanel Eyeshadow in Winter Nights in the light tan shade with a hint of shimmer. In my crease I used Laura Mercier's Fresco Eyeshadow for suttle definition. Then "tight lined" my eyes with Black Ebony and added mascara. In the brows I used a brow definer to give them some color. Done! It's short and sweet!
